January 24, 2023

It was bright and sunny this morning and I realized something.  I had so much energy and get-up-and-go that it was great.  Then the clouds moved in around noon and my energy just left.

What did I realize?  Well, lack of sun affects me more than I ever thought.  I still got stuff done, but the get-up-and-go got up and left!

So we are talking about being grateful for things about yourself this week and I thought I would list some benefits for doing just that...

1.  Increases feelings of self-worth
2.  Increases feelings of optimism
3.  Decreases feelings of depression
4.  Improves physical health
5.  Improves mental health 
6.  Improves and increases sleep
7.  Strengthens relationships
8.  Strengthens emotions
9.  Nourishes happiness
10.  Increases ability to deal with adversity

That's quite a list of really good things.  Makes you wonder why everyone doesn't think about being grateful both for themselves or for other things in their life.

Before you go to sleep tonight, mentally list the things about yourself that you are grateful for.  Smile while you are making that list.  (On a side note:  I think that folks don't smile enough.  It's something we all should do more often!).   Then sleep well.
