It rained last night and will begin raining around noon and continuing through the night. Just what we need...more water!</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I did get the grocery shopping done yesterday but finding a ham that wasn't spiral cut was hard. I had to go to two stores because the first had none and I only found two at the second! What's with spiral cut ham? Yes, it is easier to cut but harder to heat without drying out and the left-over ham is not very good...at least that's my experience.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I am going to try again to drop stuff out at Goodwill later this morning. I am not sure that I told you but the last time I did manage to drop things off, I also bought four things. A pair of pants and a shirt, both brand new with tags attached, plus an LLBean shirt and a dress with volumes of fabric in the skirt that I can use to make a long skirt or long lounge dress.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I do shop for things at Goodwill because even with increased prices they are much cheaper than buying new at a store. Also, I am not a fan of much of the current fashion, especially the prices when new. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Here's another doodle...</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqrEXr_OCsHCCAH71cPDp-jSLt0tW4At0gvLzLodAvKU9y4uyoimYrDELhHb-27MCcjSQAQ3z6Av12eZm7sa9CEpKee1ZnLVXXjW0AZbXZ1uVsaUq-yDzipr3B2Yo-XAf5DcQprq6kwl9-g4_lA9jPjdiaaaoIXXXbfJqMu-K9zunweoQ455k2EFlT6wQ/s2850/IMG_9065.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img a="" border="0" data-original-height="1774" data-original-width="2850" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqrEXr_OCsHCCAH71cPDp-jSLt0tW4At0gvLzLodAvKU9y4uyoimYrDELhHb-27MCcjSQAQ3z6Av12eZm7sa9CEpKee1ZnLVXXjW0AZbXZ1uVsaUq-yDzipr3B2Yo-XAf5DcQprq6kwl9-g4_lA9jPjdiaaaoIXXXbfJqMu-K9zunweoQ455k2EFlT6wQ/w367-h228/IMG_9065.jpeg" width="367" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Doodling for me is enjoyable and relaxing. My favorite 'flower'! They were up against the front of the house. And no, they were not there when I put the garbage cans out for pickup on Monday!</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Actually, in walking around the yard, I found even more spring flowers and tree buds which I will share the rest of the week.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">So, I did go out to check out any new magazines at Barnes and Nobles yesterday and I found one that is new to me but, boy, was it expensive. As a matter of fact, a lot of the quarterly magazines that were around twenty dollars are now twenty-four dollars. That's going to cut down on the number of magazines that I pick up! Guess the library is going to be the way to go.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I tried to drop off more stuff at Goodwill but once again, there was no parking space in the small parking lot. I plan on doing grocery shopping today so I will try again.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">And speaking of grocery shopping, for those who celebrate, Easter is this weekend. I always make some special dishes along with ham. Spinach pies with spinach, nuts, cheese in a yeast dough; kibbe which is ground beef or lamb combined with lots of onions and cracked wheat which is served without cooking and baklava for dessert. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Well, I need to get going so that's it for now...talk with you later.</span></p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-83863442948749981792024-03-26T07:28:00.002-06:002024-03-26T07:28:34.598-06:00<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8QePaAnp4QFWm-E__ImN_AJ7xqXTXd4CWoX_dwhXVccHSbakGvHpSmQYUqHIKOFddQ4l8kH1eFsnYKfNe9c1v09ZCYq2gwxOGWXV4f6Hz9hZ1LyzRv_RD1cBlz-JEeXXrTgLPf44zQweciLIDjq0SRvrzjzDidRYdEdeBDQaWzHLKnTdnGFBbheSEGug/s4032/IMG_7405.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8QePaAnp4QFWm-E__ImN_AJ7xqXTXd4CWoX_dwhXVccHSbakGvHpSmQYUqHIKOFddQ4l8kH1eFsnYKfNe9c1v09ZCYq2gwxOGWXV4f6Hz9hZ1LyzRv_RD1cBlz-JEeXXrTgLPf44zQweciLIDjq0SRvrzjzDidRYdEdeBDQaWzHLKnTdnGFBbheSEGug/w343-h400/IMG_7405.jpeg" width="343" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">It looks like another nice day here with temperatures in the 50's. Unfortunately, the next two days look like lots of rain and storms. More flooding.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Yesterday, after taking the garbage cans out to the curb, it was so nice out that I decided to take things for the patio which were stored in SnowWhite out and partially set the patio up. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Some of the items which were extremely old were beyond repair like the large umbrella and a couple chairs so I disposed of them. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The outside of the house is going to be painted this spring so setting things up permanently will have to wait. And that includes the flower beds which is why I am once again going to plant a container garden. This year, though, will include lots of veggies!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I have enjoyed making the small fabric butterflies so much that I am on my third batch. I have eleven done and am working on seven more. My thought is to create a large mobile of butterflies to hang in one of the windows in the living room.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">A reminder to those reading this on smart phones and tablets, be sure to use the web version or you will miss the majority of information on my blog. It rained so much and so hard on Saturday that we didn't get out to see the sugaring demonstration. At least we had it better than folks south of us. We had no flooding but they did.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Sunday was rainfree but cold. So it turned out to be a stay at home weekend...kind of a lazy day weekend. But I have to say that those are nice every once in a while.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">One of the things I did was play around at my craft table with cardboard. Yep, cardboard. I have been mesmerized by the YouTube videos using cardboard to create furniture. No, I didn't create any furniture. What I did create was a book with pockets on the inside. Here's a picture of the cover. I used fabric and lace on both the inside and outside of the book but I still want to find a fabric flower that I can cut out and add to the front. I used two strips of velcro to close the book...</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiutuK_NdPue1KlR4Uffcu1fr1w-TQGsaqSAlnmd1AVGgrrnW_zZ5Kdl5rE0ad5DjTF8kDTZv2g1bVEFlYJJXmcg33AYUB3IExYF50gzdtQ51XIFQ6TlH48N6ENH8P_WQUmMVIOYzzwGWOxStklDtgQelXSn3ehnqVy8Br0dAMuh8lHkTgpNndt7Rdy-1s/s1952/IMG_9039.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1952" data-original-width="1470" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiutuK_NdPue1KlR4Uffcu1fr1w-TQGsaqSAlnmd1AVGgrrnW_zZ5Kdl5rE0ad5DjTF8kDTZv2g1bVEFlYJJXmcg33AYUB3IExYF50gzdtQ51XIFQ6TlH48N6ENH8P_WQUmMVIOYzzwGWOxStklDtgQelXSn3ehnqVy8Br0dAMuh8lHkTgpNndt7Rdy-1s/w302-h400/IMG_9039.jpeg" width="302" /></a><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"></span></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br />And here is the inside. I used tacky glue to make the pockets out of cardboard, covered them with fabric and attached them to the book with a hot glue gun. There's a front loop on the right hand side to add pens, bull clips, etc. The first picture shows the book as open, the second from the top down to see the pockets...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXahdQckC1E1m3qGVQKz2C3x5Ut4DwzUO0wEWjSnO-MAGw2jRlz5oJXLNNYdURr7ZnKhnmZsYOFgqL1rzPoP2CBafErXeJkd0QBHJjXXJ2od9EZ_S9jONxqSt0l4xypy083sqIHjH-kDmxahyvEFR4CK96ZpQtiFr8vYrjbavSqCE9EtKVhBSlcWWBMfw/s2916/IMG_9041.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2004" data-original-width="2916" height="275" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXahdQckC1E1m3qGVQKz2C3x5Ut4DwzUO0wEWjSnO-MAGw2jRlz5oJXLNNYdURr7ZnKhnmZsYOFgqL1rzPoP2CBafErXeJkd0QBHJjXXJ2od9EZ_S9jONxqSt0l4xypy083sqIHjH-kDmxahyvEFR4CK96ZpQtiFr8vYrjbavSqCE9EtKVhBSlcWWBMfw/w400-h275/IMG_9041.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><br /></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-8B_HiNqTRGb7eiGTrhfG6tERKh4gw3Ka1gxd7FccuV6jJqiXkrTyx-1eLzBGZXnX_w3tUqe2bv7pOrnb94fkNd0dUjsfsJOTn5PClz25Hl8M40uCM38gw63xZQmge5kqn3LKavjChAnjp7IFO6VOQ6ogLtBKWvQIduVe0QiXLOOyteWceHITN_VZ7Tw/s3366/IMG_9044.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2203" data-original-width="3366" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-8B_HiNqTRGb7eiGTrhfG6tERKh4gw3Ka1gxd7FccuV6jJqiXkrTyx-1eLzBGZXnX_w3tUqe2bv7pOrnb94fkNd0dUjsfsJOTn5PClz25Hl8M40uCM38gw63xZQmge5kqn3LKavjChAnjp7IFO6VOQ6ogLtBKWvQIduVe0QiXLOOyteWceHITN_VZ7Tw/w400-h261/IMG_9044.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The week is in front of me wide open with lots of opportunities. How does your week look? I hope there are lots of opportunities to do things both needed and wanted.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">And talk about needed, I have decided to make a change in my exercise routine. I usually take the weekend off but when I get back on Mondays I feel that I have to spend a couple days getting back to where I was on Friday. So I have decided to still take two days off, but not consecutive, making sure that there are at least three days of exercise between the days of no exercise. I'll let you know how this works out after a month or so.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">And speaking of exercise, I wanted to let you know about the chair yoga I am doing which is 28 days of chair yoga with BottomsDown. I have enjoyed it so far and find that it has increased my mobility and helped with core development. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">But I have added 10 minutes of chair cardiac exercise. This gets my heart going and as well as fast movement. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">If it looks like I won't make the amount of steps I have as a goal I do add a walking video...not a fast walk, just a simple walk with lots of variations.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">That's all for today...talk with you later...</span></p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-46891634044060412922024-03-22T07:45:00.000-06:002024-03-22T07:45:09.578-06:00<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQd1XxrTYdUFMqBcOCkqon_7Yqq9ON_Cgz8Y1pbEoP4pwOtcRNcIqTH4HhCZg2K_WOwDmeJBh2a4zSc5G5pr_J6pjxnbNeloBuGLcRFqUWE4Re2wBU30VqurEnJtdz0SmvN6WPscQa8NNOfHCUilWWi2SupuGGzIh_DPg748XR8Q9bO6gvCViilS8assg/s1999/IMG_7933.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1978" data-original-width="1999" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQd1XxrTYdUFMqBcOCkqon_7Yqq9ON_Cgz8Y1pbEoP4pwOtcRNcIqTH4HhCZg2K_WOwDmeJBh2a4zSc5G5pr_J6pjxnbNeloBuGLcRFqUWE4Re2wBU30VqurEnJtdz0SmvN6WPscQa8NNOfHCUilWWi2SupuGGzIh_DPg748XR8Q9bO6gvCViilS8assg/w379-h375/IMG_7933.jpeg" width="379" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">It's bright and sunny and forecast to be a lot warmer, in the mid 40's.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I wonder if the abrupt changes in temperatures are good for folks. The talks usually feature professionals but yesterday was the perspective from high school students about reclaimed textiles. It was a refreshing to hear the views of the students and how they incorporated those into their artistic ventures.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">So I am still tweaking the sidebar ideas. I realized that I could add photos that show what the sidebar ideas are about. For those of you who do not use the web version on smart phones, you are missing most of the content of this blog as I have really changed a lot of things.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The vegetables we planted for the grow tent are really taking off. It's going to be interesting to see how they grow and compare them to how the plants that will be outside. I'm going to plant peas this weekend outside.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">That's it for today...talk with you later...<br /></span> </p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-86904068984498400862024-03-20T09:09:00.000-06:002024-03-20T09:09:14.057-06:00<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3QLcx1FDnQnbYJsLOLX0_uSwvQ2dvxErbHYafqmWmC7MGABExYmVjcaEAUkUtfPatRbYix6plC7aNZGO8o5fNw77AKseSmR8E664grp3N02W9_REHHdOdtEgzcnFHDCawTZN60lSmXLhf1EDLt73kwwrLmg94yKP2LAES2OfM-Jx9sG7zLGfsqECZyw0/s2503/IMG_7301.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2503" data-original-width="2121" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3QLcx1FDnQnbYJsLOLX0_uSwvQ2dvxErbHYafqmWmC7MGABExYmVjcaEAUkUtfPatRbYix6plC7aNZGO8o5fNw77AKseSmR8E664grp3N02W9_REHHdOdtEgzcnFHDCawTZN60lSmXLhf1EDLt73kwwrLmg94yKP2LAES2OfM-Jx9sG7zLGfsqECZyw0/w305-h400/IMG_7301.jpeg" width="305" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Today the high is only 50 and there is rain in the forecast late this afternoon. The talks are around an hour long and well worth it. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I don't know about you, but I have yet to adjust to the time change. I wake up in the middle of the night and it takes an hour or longer to get back to sleep! Wish they would pick one time and stay with it all year long.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The next two weekends in New York are designated sugaring weekends and most farms are open between 10am and 4pm for visitors to check out their maple sugarhouses. If the weather is nice check out a farm near you to see sugarhouses in operation. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">That's it for now...have a great day...talk with you later...</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span> </p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-71765973497721501912024-03-13T07:59:00.000-06:002024-03-13T07:59:43.315-06:00March 13, 2024<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7nTxMDsuaZjS92Pk0VBZ_d2IYYYcbfXK_j_oW4MOrFbP4AXpheKcDv7q292eGIkqF3ziblzoFDa-LHs4kzcqe1SGwgFsKE_xm557lgfQQnv00Ky1fk-jtn1fui71dqBVdVeiwZRV0o5vTrA9FLn21_fkvfWQIySIykmis_N0gt0ByV5bJPOpNsSH44UQ/s204/download.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="192" data-original-width="204" height="376" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7nTxMDsuaZjS92Pk0VBZ_d2IYYYcbfXK_j_oW4MOrFbP4AXpheKcDv7q292eGIkqF3ziblzoFDa-LHs4kzcqe1SGwgFsKE_xm557lgfQQnv00Ky1fk-jtn1fui71dqBVdVeiwZRV0o5vTrA9FLn21_fkvfWQIySIykmis_N0gt0ByV5bJPOpNsSH44UQ/w400-h376/download.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Another bright and sunny day today. Yesterday it was almost 70...it was 73 in NYC. Today it will probably get to 70. And warm temperatures are forecast for the next ten days. Does that mean that spring is here?</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">We played a limited version of musical chairs with the vehicles yesterday. When my son got home we went down and picked up my truck. They finished the tune-up which cost twice as much as I was anticipating. It was over $1600.00 BUT the reason was parts...mainly ignition coils...I needed all of them. Not cheap to say the least!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I still have some more maintenance to do on the truck before I take off for Utah in June and it will probably cost about the same. I figure, though, that the truck should be in great shape for the next several years...here's hoping!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I wanted to give you an update on my chair yoga. The yoga poses may look easy but they really give your core a workout. The nice thing about this series is that it eases you into those exercises.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">So are you having problems adjusting to the new time? I am! I want to stay up later and if I go to bed at the normal time, I invariably wake up in the middle of the night and stay away for a couple hours! Can't wait until my internal clock adjusts...at least I hope it does.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Going to try to take stuff to Goodwill again today. Lately, every time I swing by there is literally no parking space. I think another store has opened up in the small plaza making parking hard to find.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Have you watched 'Paris Murders' on PBS? It's in French so you have to read subtitles but the series is pretty good. There are several seasons available which is always nice...I've only watched the first year.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I didn't have time to work on the envelope journal yesterday, hopefully I will have some time today and can share the results.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">That's it for now...enjoy your day...talk with you later..</span></p><br class="Apple-interchange-newline" /><p> <span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">the first year</span></p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-13798726374234757732024-03-12T12:08:00.000-06:002024-03-12T12:08:34.490-06:00March 12, 2024<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eFAFPdZsrQjVwH3OoFIEs6YDWxjbmhpJ1tc6QhgAyeVGd9EznOBtTBPJzcPdIlerrueK1-1vEsj0kBH8SdtmZoEVVzVGgSimdlkOo3D0GYja-Ly91HENauvsMyMLBC5RUKYJXDuRceANxCQRXQCsYLTWkUFDKOvUsHMw2eCVCqzsvgK_m93yiqOwA_Y/s2935/IMG_8991.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2587" data-original-width="2935" height="353" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eFAFPdZsrQjVwH3OoFIEs6YDWxjbmhpJ1tc6QhgAyeVGd9EznOBtTBPJzcPdIlerrueK1-1vEsj0kBH8SdtmZoEVVzVGgSimdlkOo3D0GYja-Ly91HENauvsMyMLBC5RUKYJXDuRceANxCQRXQCsYLTWkUFDKOvUsHMw2eCVCqzsvgK_m93yiqOwA_Y/w400-h353/IMG_8991.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">This is our back yard...green grass but no leaves nor spring flowers. We picked up my son's car which is okay to drive until the part comes in and delivered my truck to our mechanic!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I did get more done on the envelope journal. I adhered a light tan paper on the back side for a place to write. Now I need to decorate, that is, add ephemera to both the cards and the pockets, side tucks, etc.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">In all honesty, I was surprised at how many journal cards were needed. And now I have to make the same amount for the other side of the envelope journal but I think I will decorate this set first.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I've finished listening to Yuval Noah Harai's book 'Sapiens: A brief History of Humankind'. It had many thought provoking areas. I was happy the the NYC library also had his book '21 Lessons for the 21st Century' available for downloading, so that's next on my list.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">That's all for now...talk with you later...</span></p>Gretchenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02997560769167987415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6790212161685687713.post-36839065512423282024-03-11T09:07:00.001-06:002024-03-11T09:07:58.498-06:00March 11, 2024<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH3tR3j-aaH1POLX6Re_A6tshCTooXv8adjJH6RBtJ49CQ24jmoXNGDtxNmrPNSMVfvt4XnsBtYCbZMt-LQYrdVYQNZo19yqRUzxfQ2UgkLGCy3WCydUfDX8YotI7MPaDshMGr6VjUb7LtRuJVEbmFodCf82TqFKa7q2cJMJQckcLiuAbwcq-3tzHBBvU/s2084/IMG_4035.jpeg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2052" data-original-width="2084" height="394" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH3tR3j-aaH1POLX6Re_A6tshCTooXv8adjJH6RBtJ49CQ24jmoXNGDtxNmrPNSMVfvt4XnsBtYCbZMt-LQYrdVYQNZo19yqRUzxfQ2UgkLGCy3WCydUfDX8YotI7MPaDshMGr6VjUb7LtRuJVEbmFodCf82TqFKa7q2cJMJQckcLiuAbwcq-3tzHBBvU/w400-h394/IMG_4035.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Nope, flowers still not peeking out...this photo is from last year.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Today is cool but very windy. So much so that I decided not to put out the garbage cans...we can wait until next week.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Today was another well planned day, however, life had other things in mind. My son's car is still at the dealership getting evaluated so he has been taking my truck. On the way to work this morning, my truck decided to act up. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">As a result, my son went to the mechanics to see what was wrong...guess I need a complete tune-up and no, he can't travel to work. So he came home...called the dealership about his car and it should be ready today. No, not fixed, that recalled part is in short supply BUT he can drive his car while waiting for the part.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">My truck, however, needs to go to the mechanic asap and as little driving as possible! Gotta love it when things go wrong. I have cancelled my doctor's appointment three times now. Let's hope the next time will work.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I did do some paper crafting this weekend. An envelope journal. It's not finished but I have a good start. The envelopes are covered, connected and there are pockets and tucks added. Now I need to decorate and make tags and cards for the pockets. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The pictures below are the full set together, the left hand envelopes, both sides and then the right hand envelopes, both sides...</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-size: medium;">Again, this picture is not current...still no flowers popping up. However, today it is sunny and warm. A one day reprieve from the rain...it rained yesterday and it is forecast to rain the entire weekend...both Saturday and Sunday!</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">Have you ever had one of those days? One where plans were laid out but basically went out the window...Well, I have had several and yesterday was one of them.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">My son whose car had a leak from the sunroof during the night (the first time) cleaned it up and went to work.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">I went to the kitchen to make my tea and my son was back! The car's check engine light came on. So, we drove (he in his car and I in my truck) to our mechanic who is about an hour away and back home in my truck. After hearing the news from the mechanic, we had to drive back down and pick up the car and drive it to the dealership. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">After a fairly long time at the dealership, we drove home (my truck only) to await what the dealership had to say.
