The heatwave has broken!  It's only 71 degrees at 9am.  However, there is a flood watch in effect.  Rain begins in a couple hours and continues until tomorrow morning.

I got up early again and walked for 30 minutes...then did 30 minutes on the stationary bike.  Still need to do some core and weight work.

The picture is of a trumpet vine.  I took it when we were out looking for a place to hike to a waterfall in a cave.  We found the short hike, but there was no parking anywhere near it.  I remember when I was young, in elementary school, we lived in a house where the trumpet vine covered the back porch.  I think it was Darlington, Wisconsin, but not sure if my memory is right.

Speaking of memory, one of my frustrations is not being able to recall something as fast as I used to.  For instance, Willie wanted to know what I wanted to eat with the fried oysters.  I knew one of the things I wanted but for the life of me, I could see what it looked like, what it was made out of, even how to make it but could I come up with 'hush puppies'...no, but Willie figured it out when I described it!

We are letting the kitten run free in different rooms.  Today I think I will let him have the run of both my bedroom, the hallway and the large upstairs room.  Going to be interesting.  Have to put out some kitty litter first.

Yesterday's quilting chat was fun although with the high temperatures, several members had problems with their internet...probably high usage as most folks stayed inside in ac cooled rooms.  It was hot yesterday, really hot.

I think I have finished the winter scene top...

You can see that I added trees, the little red house and a couple deer.  Next quilting.  Not sure if that will get done today but I will at least get it ready to quilt...on the sewing machine.

I really love to 'paint' pictures with fabric but yesterday, during the chat, one of the members showed us how many different blocks could be made out of a single, easy pinwheel block cut into nine equal pieces.  It was amazing.  I think I am going to try that today.  I'll share my results with you tomorrow.

Last day of July...have you figured out what you want to do during August.  If not, give it some thought...

Have an amazing day and stay dry if you're in the flood watch area...

Talk with you tomorrow...
