I took off this morning in Nebraska and have stopped in Iowa. It was early when I left as you can see by the morning sun on the car...
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed farms...
Of course, they have dotted the landscape continually.
One thing that surprised me was the number of wind turbines in Iowa. I shouldn't have been, though, because the wind caused havoc with driving today. I didn't really understand how much until I got out of the car at the gas station and was almost blown over!!!

I had some more pictures to upload but after waiting for 23 minutes on the last one, I think I will wait until a better connection.
When I got at the campsite late this afternoon and stepped out of the car it was like walking into a sauna. Humidity so thick you could drink it...and it just didn't feel comfortable...well, I had forgotten what storms are like. We've had lots of lightening, thunder and rain (mostly gentle), and, hard for me to believe, not a lot of wind.
So far the only real puzzle on this trip is how many folks are surprised that I am doing this alone. Guess they think that once you get to a certain age (in my case 66) you're all washed up and should stay had home and just veg out. Not me, hopefully not you either...
Well, another day of driving tomorrow. Maybe the connection at the next campsite will be better and I can upload a few more pictures.
Until then, thanks for stopping by...
