Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day???

Remember singing that when you were a child?   I do!   Now I'm singing it as an adult!!

I do know that there are places experiencing drought.  However, the Gulf Coast of Alabama is not one of them.   Last night the rain was once again so hard that I felt like I was on the inside of a drum set.   My kitties tried to burrow under the blankets especially when the sound of thunder was decidedly close!

MOBILE MOMENTS:
Bamahenge  Once again, this is not in Mobile, it's actually across the bay in Baldwin County.   One site locates it in Josephine.  One site locates it in Elberta.   It's actually on the grounds of the Barbar Marina.

What is it?  It is a full size replica of Stonehenge created by Mark Cline, a Virginia artist and paid for by George Barbar.  Let me tell you, those structures are very, very, very large!

JOURNAL PAGE UPDATE:
Finished...at least for now.   This is what it looked like yesterday...

And this is the finished (for now) page...

I added words, used white-out, markers and smudged a lot of the stamped images.   I also finished the page with a coat of Mod Podge.  When I was looking over the progression of the journal page, I was surprised.   I found it interesting to see how images came and went, at how the overall design was sharp, then softened and finally ended up with both sharp and soft elements.

I hope some of you are trying art journaling.  It's a lot of fun.   There's no critique other than what you feel works.   And you can experiment til your heart's content.

Back to colored pencils!   I wanted to try to create a landscape with colored pencils and chalk using watercolor paper.   It's turning out to be very different.   I am used to a smooth finished paper.  (My favorite is hot press rather than cold press.)   So trying to work with this finish presents problems.  It is harder to blend colors.   Who knows, I may not like the outcome, but I am finding the process interesting and challenging.   Here are a couple pictures.   The second picture is a close-up.

Finally, I finished another doodle...

Tomorrow...Biloxi!   I will take pictures!

Thanks for stopping by...
See you tomorrow...
