SORTING SCRAP FABRICS

Today begin with a bit of slush before turning to rain. And it rained lightly most of the day. But this evening with dropping temperatures, streets and sidewalks have developed a layer of ice. Not great for walking. I hope the sun has melted that ice before I have to move SnowWhite tomorrow.

Whenever I can't figure out what to do, I make squares out of my scrap fabrics...

Now that I have seen a photo of the top block, I am not too sure that I like that blue strip. Think I may replace it.

These blocks are large, 13 inches square. I have eight made. My aim is to make 24 so I can make a quilt that is 4 blocks by 6 blocks with a 4 inch sash between blocks. I am going to back it with fleece and use it as a throw quilt to grab on cool evenings. And I plan on keeping this one for me. I realize that I have not kept any quilts...go figure.

But, what I decided while digging through my stash of scraps was that it was too messy and have too many sizes of scraps. So, I am taking time to look at each scrap and place it in a pile, after ironing it. I know, that's a bit much but this way it will be easier to create blocks from my scraps.

By the way, my energy has returned...
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me...
Talk with you tomorrow...
