November 18, 2022

We took SnowWhite into the shop to have some work done including the brakes.  Once I get the truck back, I will be able to drive anywhere.

Maybe I will still get to Vermont for a visit to the museum.  I will miss the Dear Jane Quilt but I will be able to see Grandma Moses' painting...always a joy to look at!

Yesterday, I took is easy.  As I said before the energy level is still low.  And I am still on meds from the latest flu-like illness I contracted at the hospital.  This winter doesn't bode well for illness!

And now there is a major snowstorm on the western edge of New York.  I don't think that the snow will reach here.  As a matter of fact, our temperatures are still in the high 40 degrees and includes some low 50 degrees.  Last time I looked it was well into the month of November.

As a matter of fact, Thanksgiving is next week?  I think it will be a low keyed one around here but have not heard from folks yet.  But in any case, no matter what, it will be low keyed as in dish up in the kitchen and find a place to sit.

As I said, yesterday was a low energy day so I did some crafting and made five tree ornaments...

These were easy to make.  Supplies needed are lace, lace trim, plain cotton or other white fabric, stuffing, trim, bead trim, needle and thread and hot glue gun.

For each base, I cut one 7 1/2 inch diameter circle (I used a plastic container top.) out of plain white fabric and one of lace.

Using needle and thread (doubled), I stitched around the edge of the plain white fabric, pulled it slightly closed, stuffed it with cotton stuffing, then closed the circle and secured.

Again, using a needle and thread, I stitched around the edge of the lace circle and then fit it around the outside of the stuffed white fabric circle, closed the circle tight and secured.

Now comes the fun part of decorating.  I used a thick gold and white trim for the hanger hot gluing it to the top.  I then made bows out of lace and bows out of the beaded trim and hot glued two or three of them to the top of the ornament.  I added other trim like the gold strips, etc.  Look around your craft room to find other things like beads, buttons, silk flowers, etc. and have fun coming up with your own decorations to add.   Most of all, have fun.

Enjoy your weekend...

Talk with you on Monday...
