I still have a few presents to wrap and the baking to do. But, as I have said before, I am not baking that much at Christmas anymore.
Yesterday I was at the eye doctors a lot longer than anticipated. The appointments were running behind by two plus hours! But I now have new scripts for my glasses which is great because my current glasses are falling apart. Interesting, the change was so small that I really would not have changed if my glasses were in good shape. The only real problem was driving home at dusk when cars have their lights on and my eyes were still dilated. Lots of halos from the lights, but I made it home safely.
I added another tree and a hat to the snowman in my second prototype. All that remains is some animal like a rabbit or deer. I think I will also add more trees in front of the current trees and probably less snow. I also would like a dark blue sky...
I do like the way this is progressing. I think I would like to try some white felt for the snow unless I can find white batting.
How do you celebrate the New Year? Parties with lots of people or quietly at home watching tv and having an eggnog? This is one celebration that I like to keep very low key. Maybe have a nice meal, and yes, some eggnog, but mostly watching the New Year turn on tv. Of course, there's usually a football game to watch.
The bipartisan deal that was set to stop the government shut down went up in smoke yesterday thanks to the incoming administration both those elected and those who are assuming a shadow position. If they can't come up with something by tomorrow, the government shuts down. Going to be interesting to see if they can 'pull a rabbit out of the hat' in a day!
