It's a bit cold...4 degrees this morning!  High is supposed to be 18...not very warm.  It's fairly cloudy out but little or no wind which is good.

BritBox (a BBC streaming service) has been running an Agatha Christie's Poirot Series marathon.   I thought I had seen all of them but I actually saw a couple new-to-me shows.

There's a new prompt posted in 'Getting It Together'.  I do this on a regular basis...say, every couple of months.

Continuing with this week's emphasis on Junk Journal Ephemera, today's focus again helps to get rid of those pesky scraps...it's clusters.  Basically, little or large pieces of scraps glued together in a unique and pleasing manner.

In the past when I've made clusters, I simply put them in an envelope or small box.  On one of the YouTube videos I saw another way to keep them.  I think the idea was from ShabbyDabbyDooduh.

To keep clusters safely use several pieces of 12" by 12" paper, folded in half, nested (like a book) and sewn together.  Some glue the entire cluster to the paper and cut it out when needed.  I used a small dot of glue and have been able to easily remove the cluster.

To make several, start with a base.  I used a heavier piece of paper...

To get the different edges, tear the paper either away from you or toward you.  Next, I added another piece of contrasting paper gluing it down...

I then added a piece of writing either from a magazine, newspaper or book plus a few more paper scraps securing with glue...

I finished with more scraps, again gluing, including some decorative lace...

Here are a few close-ups...

Of course, I have made several other types of clusters as you can see in this picture...

A few more close-ups...

For a lot more ideas and examples, check out Pinterest or YouTube.  There's a vast array of all types of clusters.  You can make clusters that are specific to your junk journals on the cover, or a page, a pocket, a tag, etc.

Two pluses, you will reduce your scraps as well as design clusters that fit your creations.  Not too bad for something that costs little or nothing!  If you make journals, try making a few clusters...once you begin, it's hard to stop!!!

If you're in the deep freeze, stay warm and keep well.

Talk with you tomorrow...
