I still seem to be posting later and later!  July has not gone the way I planned.  Between the new little kitten (By the way, it's a he and we have named him Cookie Monster!), the weather which has affected me healthwise and zoom meetings (I just had a two hour one around noon!) and guild stuff, I seem to be behind all the time not to mention checking my communications.  Oh well, I guess it's better to be busy than to have lots of time on my hands to do nothing!  But honestly, I really thought that July would be one of those lazy, hazy months.  Turns out it's just crazy!

I was able to work on my fish collage during the meeting today.  Guess that's a bonus of being on zoom rather than in person.  Anyway, here's what he looks like so far...remember I decided the fish was a he...

Actually, the fish is done with the exception of outlining him when the water and seaweeds are done.  Very bright and energetic...with a little bit less than happy look.  I'm hoping that I have enough water colors to finish.  I may add a bit of yellow to imitate the sunlight on the water.

I've been watching the latest series, I think it's series 10, of Grantchester.  I must have missed it when it was on weekly.  It's interested how the relationships between the different clergy and detective develop.  I've watched the show from the beginning with the different clergy leads, but I think my favorite character is Geordie the detective played by Robson Green.

So how has your summer gone so far...restful and relaxing or harried and hurried?  As you can tell, mine has not been restful since arriving back from the west.  And I haven't even been to a single festival yet!

Next year I think I may either go out west a month earlier or skip a year because I need to be here to take care of the garden.  The tomatoes, once again got way too big and all the energy was put into growth rather than tomatoes.  Three of the plants have an abundance of fruit, but the others grew way too large and have very little fruit.

Also, the beans are not growing at all well.  Neither are the cucumbers but the squash has lots of flowers and a couple of fully grown squash (summer).  Live and learn, that's my motto...but at this age I would have thought that I needed less learning when it comes to gardening.  Must be the new area that's got me frustrated.

The sky is turning very dark and threatening.  Flash floods are predicted today and it looks like that rain may be here soon.  Hope the weather is what you want...

Take care and be safe...
Talk with you tomorrow...
