I was up and dressed early because today is the day that Cookie Monster is neutered which meant an early morning trip to the vet. The drive was absolutely fantastic driving with yellow/orange leaved trees sparkling in the sunlight. I even took the long way to the grocery store just to enjoy the trip longer.
I did finish the green tree ornament but I'm not really happy with it so I will continue looking and trying out new ideas. Here's the finished creation...
One thing that I have noticed with magazines is that there is far more crafts and how-to's to make rather than what to purchase. It's interesting because most magazines are put together six months prior to publication. So the publishers took a chance on the economy being not in great shape and decided to push making rather than purchasing...something that I remember them doing when the children were young.
Another week of the government shut down. The House isn't even going to be open. How does compromise occur under those circumstances. We may be in for a very long shut down. That's going to be hard on a lot of our neighbors! Not to mention the loss of the East Wing which is hard to see! My sincere hope is that all of you will be okay through this ordeal.
On a happier note, there's lots to do that costs very little or no money. Taking a walk, collecting fall leaves, having a picnic, reading a book (No books, check our your local library), or just enjoying one another's company over a cup of coffee or tea, etc. When the budget is stressed look for free things to do. Check out those things that are around the house for ideas of things to do or create...even rearranging furniture can give one a lift.
That's if for today...
Have an amazing, colorful day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
