How many of you have saved Christmas decorations year after year? Using those is another way to do cost free decorating. And don't be afraid of using them in different ways.
Do you have a place to cut down a few boughs of pine for free? Sometimes, the pop-up areas that sell fresh trees will let folks have boughs trimmed from trees at no cost. Fresh pine is always a positive addition to decorations especially the smell!
I will be making a general store to add to our winter village this weekend. I had hoped to get to it yesterday so I could post a picture today but time got away from me...and the extended dental appointment didn't help!
So, one other thing that all of us experience during the holidays is the loss of loved ones...parents, siblings, spouses, friends, etc. When I hear the Trans-Siberian Orchestra play 'The Music Box Blues' I cry. I'm not really sad, but more remembering...even celebrating those memories.
My advice is to let yourself cry. It's a form of release that allows you to feel better afterward. Find ways to express and deal with your emotions in a healthy way (like crying) rather than ignoring them and hoping they will go away. They never do...they may just surface in ways that are not beneficial.
Remember this little fuzzy thing that my son rescued last summer?
Well, this is what he (Cookie Monster) looks like now...
He's in his teenage years and believe me, he's acting like a real teenager testing boundaries all the time!
Do you have plans for the weekend? There are only two more weekends before the Christmas Holiday, hopefully your plans for the holiday are well underway. If not, then it's really time to start.
That's all for now. Have a wonderful day and enjoyable weekend...
Talk with you on Monday...
