And today, although they are forecasting snow for an hour, the rest of the day...that's all day, folks...it's going to rain with temperatures in the 40's!
Today's plans include getting the oil changed in SnowWhite this morning plus finishing up packing the decorations and perhaps adding some spring/summer decorations to the living/dining room! And I have a book discussion online this afternoon. Supper's ready to make...I bought a pizza on sale yesterday! I know, not the greatest of foods, but it was cheap and it works for me.
I began working on the March Prompt for the Fabric Stitch Book. Here's what I have so far...
I'm not sure what this stitch is called, but basically you stitch two parallel lines offsetting them. Then connect the lines together as shown. It's kind of a fun stitch that changes depending on how far or how close the parallel lines are from each other. I'm not finished with this yet but not too sure what I will add.
Oh, and I found a free way to bundle my embroidery floss that may not suit folks who are really into embroidery but works fine for me. First of all, I sorted out the colors to bundle them together. Then I took cardstock and cut it down a bit shorter than the floss, rolled the paper tightly around the floss and taped to secure...
What's neat is that I can pull out lengths of floss without pulling out the entire piece of floss...
Like I said, this would probably not work for folks who are really into embroidery and have their floss wound on floss cards and filed according to the color numbers, but for me, an occasional embroiderer it works just fine.
I was looking at the weather forecast for the next ten days and there are several 60 plus and 70 plus degree days...and this is March. I am wondering if this might be a hint as to how hot the summer may be around here and if it will affect the garden.
I'm not sure if there are vegetable varieties, say of tomatoes, that tolerate hot weather more than others. I am going to check that out. And then take a look at my garden plan to see if I can change it to accommodate hotter weather.
By the way, are you growing anything this year, either outside or inside? Have you made plans yet? It's time to consider those things. And it's also getting close to doing some pruning of plants and bushes that you didn't get to last fall. Course, you have to wait until the snow melts!
As this month is National Craft Month, I hope you spend time today enjoying some crafting...any type from coloring, to sewing, to beadwork, to woodwork, to anything you love to do or are experimenting with. And remember, perfection is not the idea, having fun and enjoying creating something is the goal (or should I say intention!)!
Have an amazing day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
