It's actually warmer right now temperature wise but it feels cooler than yesterday...and it's not going to be quite as warm as yesterday...only 66 degrees. At least no rain. That starts tomorrow! Which means that I need to get anything outside done today.
Yesterday I was able to work on SnowWhite's rust spots. I didn't get to all of them but I did manage to work on most that showed. The rust remover worked fairly well but I needed to sand a lot to remove all of it.
After rinsing, sanding, rinsing again and drying I applied several light coats of paint. Today I need to apply a few coats of clear sealer. I wasn't able to work on two spots which need bondo work. On both sides of the truck between the back door and the cargo bed there is a thin strip of metal top to bottom and there is about an inch missing on the bottom of each. On the whole, though, SnowWhite looks quite good for a 2014 truck with almost two hundred thousand miles.
Today I also need to clean the inside of the truck, bring in the suitcases from Duchess (where they are stored) and finish up any outside work before the rains come which are forecast to be around for a week plus! I'm also making dinner, washing clothes and working on the starter seeds as well as finishing up the newsletter for the guild. Sounds like a full day. Good thing I have already finished my exercises!
I did manage to squeeze in some time to work on junk journal ephemera yesterday. I made really small decorated envelopes (about 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches). First I made a template...
After cutting out the shapes on plain copy paper, using stick glue I covered one side with scrap pieces of decorative paper...
And here are three examples after creating the envelopes both front and back sides...
They really are cute. Now I have to come up with tiny cards to put inside the envelopes! Then I can add them to my journals.
Two days left in April and both of them have zoom meetings! Life continues! And sometimes when I have something big in the near future (Like driving to Park City) I wish I could spend more time getting ready for that rather than having to keep up with the normal and ordinary planned things. Do you ever feel that way?
One thing I have found out is that it's best to do what you can in the way of normal everyday chores but don't add anything to them. For instance, deciding to super clean everything before leaving. (Yes, I have done that!). Or deciding to take on a new last minute project that could easily wait until later. (And yes, I have done that before also!)
It's really better to plan out those days before the big event so one is not rushed. Plan for what is normally done but do not take on anything extra. And plan to slowly get ready for the event so when it arrives you are not too tired to enjoy it. I guess planning is key but be sure to allow for changes in those plans when needed. And take time to enjoy both the plans for and the event itself!
Talk with you tomorrow...
