It's forecast to be a bit warmer today...high 50's rather than low 50's...and sunny most of the day.

I attended the awards night for graduating seniors last night and I'm happy to note that my grandchild received two of them!

Yesterday, one of the things I did was to cover a box to hold the fabric that I purchased.  Fat quarters are much cheaper here than back home - about 50% cheaper - so I plan on going back and picking up several more.

I also made a couple of upright book holders so that I don't have to constantly move them to get to supplies.  It's nice to make useable items out of throw aways.  I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I enjoy watching 'Treasure Books' videos.  (If you have never seen Natasa Marinkovic's videos check her out on YouTube.  She's fun to watch and has tons of ideas.  She also wrote a book on journaling called 'Treasure Bookmaking'.) And yesterday she made a journal out of envelopes.  I was so intrigued that I decided to take a break from my current journal and make an envelope one.

I used three small envelopes and two signatures of writing paper.  Altogether there are four pockets, each with a writing card.  The cards were a bit difficult to get out of the pockets so I added a pull tab to each.  I used a velcro circle to open and close the journal.  You can see how the journal turned out in these pictures.  First, the front cover...

Two signatures (completely opened)...

 Second card...

Third card...

Fourth card...

And finally, the back cover...

I really had a lot of fun making this little journal which I will keep with me for jotting down notes, lists of errands, etc.  Actually, it's so cute that I may make several for gifts.  As a matter of fact, as cute as it looks, it's even more darling in person!

It is easy to make but there are a few things to line up before gluing the envelopes together and adding the signatures.  Check out 'Treasure Books' for complete instructions and have a go at making one.

Since I moved to upstate New York, I have not been able to find either a guild or craft group close by.  There are some guilds but they are about an hour and a half away and meet at night.  I still attend the one in NYC but I would like one closer.

Lately,I have been toying with the idea of creating a craft group on zoom that meets once or twice a month for live sessions.  Not sure how to go about this but it seems like something that would work.

I do host some chats and find them quite nice.  Not as great as meeting in person, but a real close second.  Well, I'm going to have to think about how to go about creating a craft group that is small enough to enjoy live sessions but large enough to still be a viable group if some can't make a meeting.  Stay tuned...

Have a wonderful day...

Talk with you tomorrow...
