How was your weekend?  Did you enjoy the Fourth?  We had family over and it was a wonderful day.  Low-keyed and relaxing.  We even had some colorful albeit low fireworks to have fun with.

It began raining in the evening and it's still raining this morning.  Forecast is for rain the next seven out of ten days!  Sure is dark out.  Don't think we will see the sun anytime soon with these thick clouds.

The weather on the Fourth did do some damage.  After the family left (late afternoon) we drove to a store about twenty-five minutes away.  While driving it began to rain.  We were at the store about ten minutes and began driving home.  During the time we were at the store really strong winds came through (not at the store) and took down about twenty trees that littered the highway on the way back home.  No wind nor rain at our house!

Our family let us know that the storm that rolled through their area was really bad, streets were blocked, folks on the water were unable to dock and some boats sank.  They lost a large limb but, thankfully, no other damage.

So, I think I am back on track and feeling much better.  I have already put in my hour of exercise.  I do have to run some errands this morning but other than that, back to my summer camp.

My son surprised me with two bird feeders one outside my studio window and one where we can see it from the patio.  That will really help with the bird count.  I have already seen cardinals, bluejays and lots of other birds that I need to identify.

I also did get some fabric work in.  I had purchased some five inch square packages of fabric which were really not very good.  I decided to make them into strips of twelve which I did.  They were so uneven that I wound up cutting them into three inch strips...

I will now cut three inch strips out of solid fabric to go inbetween these strips and make a blanket to donate.

One other fabric project I wanted to try was paper piecing.  I got large paper patterns and some really nice Kaffe Fassett fabric and using the glue method covered the paper pieces...

This project won't get down this summer but I hope to get a good start on it.

Well, that's all for today.  Hope you have an amazing day...

Talk with you tomorrow...
