How was your Halloween? We had a lot of little munchkins coming around this year. And interestingly, they were all accompanied by their fathers. The smallest little munchkin was not really too sure what was going on...trick-or-treater in training...but she was cute.
Most of the leaves now grace the ground, so our colorful fall is quickly falling away. There are exceptional trees here and there, but even they are fewer and further between.
I have finally finished the last of the first four pages in my fabric journal. I used some glue on this page for some of the elements to see how it worked out. It seemed to work well.
This is the page with only the fabric collage...
And this is the page with the embellishments...
Here are some close-ups...
I wasn't sure how to finish the edges, so I decided to use a sparkly yarn and a simple overcast stitch...
I didn't really plan it that way, but I used a word or phrase for each page...
Funny how things work out at time!!!
The next step for this project is to develop another set of four pages. I want this set to be more contemporary and less romantic. One of the things I have discovered is that my collection of things to use for embellishments is rather limited. But I really do not want to buy a lot of new stuff...guess I will have to frequent some thrift stores...any other suggestions as to where to get items?
Hope your weekend was restful and that you are all ready to tackle the upcoming week.
