The Day Before The Day Before...

Christmas Eve is but a short hour and a half away. Where did all the time go we ask each other while promising to start earlier next year? I hope your preparations are well in hand.

I am basically done. All the presents are wrapped and gone. All the decorations that we are putting up are up. I even managed to do some baking today...three loaves of banana bread, fruitcake cupcakes, a couple different types of cookies and cranberry pudding.

I send out my cards between Christmas and New Year's. That way I can spend some time with each one instead of hurrying and just signing my name with maybe a short note.

I told you we have LOTS of Christmas decorations and I really edited this year what I put up. But this is our first manger scene. We bought it in Mobile, Alabama 43 years ago about a month after we got married. And we only paid $5.00 for it. But that was about all the money we had at that time. It has been up every year since.

And here are some of our Macy's Thanksgiving Parade collectibles...

And all through the preparations where were Chip and Dale?   Why in their favorite place, or course!

Well, about the only thing that would make this Christmas perfect is my lutefisk. However, as I wasn't sure where we were going to be this year, I didn't order any.   So we are going to have lobster instead.   Now, most folks would think that is a step up, but you have to understand how we Scandinavians are attached to our lutefisk at Christmas.   This will only be the third Christmas I haven't had any.   Don't get me wrong, I love lobster, but lutefisk and potato sausage beat lobster any day in my book.   Maybe that's what's wrong with me!!!!!!!!!

I hope your holidays are great.   Between Christmas and the New Year's I plan on finalizing my plans for the blog next year.   Stay tuned...

Thanks for stopping by.
