Of Miniature Art Quilts and Micro Organizing

It was a beautiful day today....I went outside to run some errands in short sleeves.   The sun was shining brightly, a gentle breeze, blue skies and no snow in sight.   Now, this is December 1st and I live in Maine...this does not exactly compute.   But whatever, I'll take it.   Here's a picture from my office/studio window...which was wide open....

My mind has been running in several directions today from Christmas decorations,  to presents, to thinking about the blogs about not spending any money for a year and wondering if I should consider challenging myself to something like that, to finding out happily that there is a big group of folks out there that make miniature art quilts, to micro organizing my studio.

So as I was pondering all these things I worked on my embroidery floss...

The entire studio looked like the top of the table above, but I finally finished it.

It looks so nice, I don't want to touch it!!!!

But I didn't stop there.   Look at the small bead box....

And the double box of sequins plus a few beads...

Then I started on the boutique yarn which I use for embellishing...

I wanted to be able to take small amounts when I go crafting, so I cut up some lightweight boxes and wound yarn around them, two per cardsI still have lots of yarn and ribbon to put on cards...

One of the reasons I am getting things organized in small containers is because I will probably be going south sooner rather than later for a couple months and I really wanted to continue crafting (and blogging).   I figure that I will be able to take one small suitcase full of crafting things.  Thus, I am working on it.

And about the miniature art quilts.   I love small!!   I love art quilts!!  To find out that I can combine the two AND that there is an audience for them is wonderful.  I guess that I only thought that miniature traditional quilts were ''in' and not miniature 'art' quilts.  My mind is full of lots of miniature art quilts that I want to make....have to start a journal on all the ideas.

Thanks for stopping by....
Hope your day was great!
