I really hope you don't mind, but I am going to continue with the landscape tomorrow instead of today. I had the most delightful surprise visit from some dear friends whom I haven't seen for years. We spent a lot of time together sharing memories.
When our children were young, we became friends with several couples most of us with very little money to spare and all of us with children...we called it our roving day care center. We had more fun going on picnics and just getting together for potlucks or doing really crazy things like driving into the city for pie at midnight (I can still taste the French Silk Pie!) or surprising friends at five in the morning for breakfast (We all brought the fixings.)!
It was nice to remember my 'couple' days with such happiness.
But, I wasn't able to take pictures earlier and when I tried this evening, nothing turned out. So I will take them tomorrow and post the next part of the landscape. Thanks for understanding.
I do want to share a frugal idea for your consideration.
I had never heard of this one before...have you? A couponing workshop? A friend of mine who went to one said it was a most enlightening experience. She already redeemed some coupons, but wasn't interested in mega-couponing.
What she learned was that with a little more effort she could redeem a lot more. And if it was for items she did not use, she could donate them to food banks.
The workshop was free and the presenter suggested that people look for free workshops because they are offered all over the nation. Among the things she learned was that it made a difference how and when you handed coupons and reward cards to the cashier. Also, how to get manufacturers coupons by using Facebook.
I used to redeem coupons but somewhere along the line, I stopped...maybe with the economy in the shape it is, I will have to look into it again.
I'm sure many of you know the ins and outs of redeeming coupons. There's probably even a lot about it on line. However, a lot of it was new to me. You just may want to look into the idea of couponing, especially if it helps you stretch your grocery money.
Thanks for visiting...
