Here's another picture from the camping trip. This is from Mossy Cave and Waterfall Park.
I'm ready to mail out my Petite Inspiration Swap tomorrow. I thought I would share some pictures with you.
The swap uses kitchen matchboxes. I found one so used it as a pattern to make my own boxes. The inside was the same size, the outside wound up a bit longer. I used a frozen pizza snack box to make the boxes for the swap. After cutting them out and gluing them together, I realized that I needed to cover the boxes so the writing did not show through the material.
So first I covered them with white paper, using ModPodge. When dry I covered them with a fabric again using Modpodge. They were really sturdy after two coats of Modpodge. I then decorated the boxes with lace and an embroidered flower.
When done, I did not like the cardboard showing inside the top, so I painted the inside white. Unfortunately, when I slide the boxes in, the paint scratched. So after repainting, I covered the inside with clear heavy duty mailing tape. A bit tricky, but I managed.
The first three pictures include the items I gathered to put in the boxes. The last ones are of the box itself.
I had a lot of fun with this swap. If you ever have an opportunity to enter a swap why not give it a try. You may enjoy it.
