Okay, what is '35 days and counting' all about you are perhaps asking? Well, that's how long I have before I start traveling east. Back to New York City to find an apartment. And back to Maine. (I think I have multiple personalities...I love both big cities and rural countrysides. )
What I have to do before the big trip would make a grown person cry...notice the tissues next to me! The list is enormous. I'll share some of those things later on. But suffice to say that I will be busy.
One thing I plan on doing is to document my trip with photos. And, it will be a leisurely trip with lots of stops for three or four days each. I am actually looking forward to this, but first things first. I have to get ready for the trip.
That means I have to finish outfitting my trailer. And I have to organize it so that all of my 'stuff' fit. So, I will be be keeping you up to date as to how things are going.
First things first. I finished my postcard art swap. They will be mailed off tomorrow. First I created a background sheet by using watercolor to create a yellow wash background with a few green and orange highlights.
I then copied the background onto a piece of paper. Then I took one of my doodles and copied it on the piece of paper with the background. Once I got everything the way I liked it, I copied this onto an embossed piece of postcard paper. (Note: I was using an inkjet printer.) This is the finished product.
Although I purchased embossed blank postcards, I found that the postcards were way to flimsy. So I printed the postcard back on card stock and used double adhesive paper to stick the card stock to the embossed postcard front.
After trimming the edges, I think it looked really great...hope everyone who get my postcards think so too.
I hope you had a great Fourth of July Weekend. I saw lots of fireworks displays, all from the house which was neat!!!
Thanks for visiting...
