DREAMS AND GOALS

This house is located in Fairhope, Alabama.   It's someone's dream house, don't you think?   Just imagine how the builder thought about it, dreamed about it and then set about building it.

That's what you need to do with your dream, your goal.   You need to think about it, dream about it and then set about making it come true.

So, did you come up with twelve (more or less) steps of things to do to make your dream come true.   Those steps can include things specifically chosen to create the dream AND they can include things that will help create the dream.

For instance, in the writing example, taking a writing course, beginning a blog or writing daily in a journal are not specific things to create the dream BUT they are things that will help you create the dream.   Whereas, making an outline and spending an hour a day writing the first draft are things that will create the dream.

The next thing to do is take those twelve steps, put them in the order that seems most logical to you in your situation.   Then for each step write down ideas or 'small steps' to help you accomplish each main step.   For instance, if you want to take a writing course, you might include research on the best course, factors to include when making a decision (i.e. cost, class time, requirements, etc.), etc.

Now, the example we have been considering is a major undertaking, but your dreams do not have to be something that big.   Maybe you just want to begin exercising or eating better and losing weight.   Maybe organizing your home, or simplifying your life.

For each one you can apply the same idea.   I think the most important thing about this is to do what that owner of the house in the picture above did...think about it, dream about it and set about doing it.  Once you get to that third part, you're well on your way.

So, take time to finalize the plans for your dream, your goal.   One word of warning:  Be sure that these plans fit your life...don't try to squeeze them into your life...it won't work and you will become very frustrated.   In other words, don't plan to work on your dream for six hours a day if you only have one hour of free time.    Instead, make the most of that one hour.   You'll be surprised at how much you will accomplish.

Thanks for checking in...
By the way, it was warmer here today, hope it was for you also

See you tomorrow...
