Journaling, Fabric Challenge and Mobile Moments

So, what's the weather like where you live?   Rain, sleet, snow, ice, wind, cold temperatures?   I think the weather gremlin has gone a bit bonkers this season!   By the way, it's raining right now and a bit cold...(hear my sigh)?

JOURNAL PAGE UPDATE:
This is the page finished last week...

And this is what it looks like now.
I added several things from letters cut out from an ad to fabric to a piece from an onion bag.  I like the direction this page is taking...a bit stronger to me.   What do you think?

FABRIC CHALLENGE QUESTION:
Remember last week I was pondering the question of whether to add the small details with fabric or with fabric paint.   In the picture below, the windows and door on the house on the left are done with fabric and on the house on the right the details are done with paint.

I could not add a lighter color to the windows even if I did not color the window in first with black.   I don't know about you but I am leaning toward fabric details?   Which do you like?

MOBILE MOMENTS:
Well, this is more like an Alabama Moment.   There used to be a town called Pilot Town on Navy Cove.  It was called Navy Cove because England had to send over a fleet of ships (Navy) to combat all the pirates in the area.   (We are talking a long time ago!)  But the name Navy Cove stuck.

Pilot Town was a thriving town mainly because of the bar pilots (pilots that guided ships through the forty mile narrow channel from Fort Morgan to Mobile Bay.)   Unfortunately in 1906, a hurricane destroyed the town.   The few survivors tied themselves to trees but the buildings were mostly gone.

The only things left now are a reservoir in the gulf water which is only visible at low tide and a graveyard which no one has been able to find.   Below are pictures from the area...

The blue water areas are separated from the gulf water by a forty foot sand dune at high tide...even more at low tide.   It is a quiet, beautiful place.   I enjoyed imagining what it was like when Pilot Town was a bustling town on the water with ships coming and going and fishermen bringing in their load of oysters.

One final thought.   There's a new weekly journal prompt which may be confusing to you.   It becomes clear when you know what this week is...it's the Random Acts of Kindness week (February 10th to the 16th).   It's a great time to practice your kindness...I plan on partaking...what about you?

Thanks for visiting...
See you tomorrow...
