Dauphin Island, Part One

I went to Dauphin Island today with a friend.   It was a lot more and a lot less crowded than I remember.   A lot more than, say, 30 years ago but a lot less than 10 years ago.   Hurricanes took out several homes.   But here are some pictures from the end on the island.

These are looking toward the land on the bay side of the island.  I think the high blue color was because I was taking pictures away from the sun...

Looks like snow...

It's not...it's beautiful white sand!

This little fellow came to visit...

But the big bird was not being sociable so first he left...

And then the little bird decided to leave...up...up...and away...

 

Saw some porpoises, but unfortunately only one shot was good...

I have more pictures to share both from the island and from Gulf Shores.   Come on back next week to see a few things that are really unexpected...and I do mean unexpected!!!
