WAITING FOR THE THIRD SHOE TO DROP...

Just a quick update, Lady J went into the shop for an oil change and to check the brakes.   The brakes were fine but the rear rotors were, as they said, really non-existent.   Okay, so replace them.   Then they called back and said that one of the ball-joints was bad.   That's two.   One more to go...

Now to be honest, I have never replaced the rotors in the car and that's after 80,000 miles and many of them pulling a much too heavy trailer.   And, I have only replaced one ball-joint...the one opposite of the one that now has to be replaced.   So, although it seems like a lot, when you consider everything, it's not so bad.  And although the bill was $700, that's not too bad for all that work.

So, waiting for the third shoe to drop...well, today we were going to Rockport to have some fun in the water and we were in Big Red, a very large 350 diesel King Ranch Super Cab Ford which began to have problems.   The upshot, well, shopping for a new truck was advised.   Clunk...the third shoe dropped...just not on me.

I felt kind of bad that it happened to one of my children, but they had been having the same problem before so the idea wasn't entirely out of the blue.

Oh, and because we didn't make it to the water, the grandkids invited a ton of their friends over for fun outside and a sleepover.   Good thing Lady J was here because I went and picked up pizza for the 'herd'...and a fun time was had by all...at least the kids!!!

Thanks for stopping by...
Have a great weekend...
Talk to you on Monday...
