25 Days of Christmas Crafts - Day Six - A Felt Snowman

Well, when I wrote yesterday's post, the Vikings were ahead...but leave it to my favorite team, they wound up losing to the team that hadn't won a game!  I'd say go figure but really, this is what they do.  Still, I love my Vikings.  By the way, I visited their stadium this past summer and it was awesome!

So, today I am going to continue with the snowman theme but with felt.  Check this photo out...

Another easy craft.
The supplies you need are:  Felt, assorted colors, scissors, needle and thread,
stuffing, a chopstick or pencil and tacky glue.

First use the paper pattern from yesterday, or make a new one.
Cut two pattern pieces out of white felt...

Using a needle and white thread sew the two felt snowman together
beginning at the bottom side and stitching all the way around.  You can
use a running stitch or one with the thread going around the edge...

Leave an opening at the bottom...

Using small pieces of stuffing (I use a poly-fil but cotton can also be used)
and working from the top of the snowman down stuff the snowman loosely.
A chopstick or pencil helps to push the stuffing up to the head.
When stuffed, sew the hole closed...

Using black felt, free hand cut out buttons and eyes. Out of
orange felt, cut out a nose (basically a triangle.)
You can sew them on but I use tacky glue to adhere the felt pieces...

Cut a strip of red felt for the scarf that is wider at both ends.
Then cut a slit so one end can slip through...

Add the scarf to the snowman...

Cut two hats out of black felt and glue on halfway on the head.
Then cut two arms out of brown felt.  Make a slit as shown on both sides
of the Snowman, slip the arms into the slit and add some tacky glue...

Add a string at the top to hang on the tree and you're done...

Again, a very easy craft...
Enjoy...
Talk with you tomorrow...
