February 11: Gratitude

Thinking about summer!

The ice is melting!  And with two more days in the high 50's and low 60's, all of the ice should be gone as well as most of the snow.

It's SuperBowl weekend...are you going to watch?  Which team are you going to cheer for?  SuperBowl party?  I was listening to a supermarket owner who suggested that one way to keep the costs down is to purchase store brands.  Family will be gathering here on Sunday and the star of the meal will be taco's with every kind of ingredients that you can imagine.  Not sure what dessert will be yet.

Speaking of dessert, have you every made toffee bars using graham crackers.  Simple and absolutely great to eat.  Just google toffee bar recipe using graham crackers for directions.

So today is the last day focusing on gratitude...how are you doing with your lists?  Better yet, has focusing on things you are grateful for improved your outlook?  Are you smiling more?  Even when times are tough for you?  I hope so because everyone deserves the benefit of gratitude even in the midst of hardships...or maybe even more so in the midst of hardships.

Keep up with writing the abbreviated lists until you can count those blessings without having to write them down.  And then begin thinking about gratitude all day long.  Put cues like the beads, or your journal or even the little cards that you can make and use as reminders.  Using them as bookmarks and when you pick up the book to read, think of something that you are grateful for.

And speaking of little cards to remember gratitude, you need pens or pencils and small cards.  Decorate them with 'gratitude' reminders.   Here are a few examples...

Enjoy your weekend...talk with you on Monday...
