Things don't look great internationally. I certainly don't want a WW3. And I imagine most folks feel the same way. Careful but meaningful steps need to be taken by the rest of the world to stop this insanity!
So, yesterday, President's Day, was fairly warm here...in the mid 50's...no snow around. Warmer temperatures for today and tomorrow are forecast but it looks like we could have a big dumping of snow on Friday! This zig-zag weather routine is getting very, very old!
This week begins a new topic to focus on...exercise! Yes, I know...it's probably not a favorite topic with most folks. But physical movement...exercise...really is important.
Let's look at a few benefits of exercise. First of all, it improves memory and brain function. Yep...you may not need those over the counter aids to help with your memory or even your brain function. Spend a fraction of your day in exercise rather than on those highly expensive pills. And face it, even an hour of exercise is only one twenty-fourth of your day...you still have twenty-three hours left.
And what is the highest New Year's resolution each year? Losing weight! Guess what? Exercise is a great way to manage your weight (along with a sensible eating schedule). Yes, exercise will help you both reach and maintain a healthy weight.
Do you know what the silent killer is? High blood pressure. Well, what do you know, exercise is another way to lower blood pressure.
Of course, each of you has to determine with your doctor what level of exercise is best for you. And you also need to listen to what your body is telling you. Remember, it's always better to take steady smaller steps rather than occasional giant leaps. A Tortoise and Hare example...
