Yesterday was warm and sunny and today is cold and cloudy and we are waiting for the next snow storm to begin later on!  It looks like we are not going to get 18 inches of snow...more like half a foot but they are also predicting ice.  I can do without the ice...actually, at this point I can do without the snow!

Not much sleep last night after the invasion began around ten.  I guess I just could not believe that it was really happening.  And I pray that the escalation does not lead to WWIII.  I know that we will have higher prices for gas and food, but that is very little to pay if it results in stopping any increase in warfare.  We need to support Ukraine.

Back to exercise...did you know that exercise improves both joint pain and joint stiffness.  And let's face it, the older one gets, the stiffer our joints get...they need that exercise 'oil' to make movement easier.  

Another benefit of exercise is that it works agains fatigue.  Next time that afternoon tiredness occurs, get up and move...maybe try a 15 minute walking routine.  Unless you are sleep deprived, a short routine will chase the fatigue away. 

The exercise routines Silver Sneakers offers include a really wide variety of classes from 15 minutes to 45 minutes in length.  The classes include yoga, gentle stretch, mindfulness and meditation, strength, walking and Zumba.  

Between Silver Sneakers and Senior Planet plus the videos available on YouTube, there is no excuse for not spending even a few minutes each day in some type of movement.  And the benefits far exceeds any excuse.  Of course, be sure to check with your doctor for the appropriate level of exercise AND listen to you body.
