March 17: Nature

It's raining...more moisture...wish we could ship some of this excess water to the west where they are in a major drought.  Another result of global warming?  We really need to tackle this problem sooner rather than later.  I am wondering if it's too late to make changes to bring things back to 'norm'; or, if we need to find a way to stop further changes and learn to live with the situation as is.

And it looks like the curtain is falling in Russia as that country both continues with it's invasion of Ukraine and deals with unrest at home.  And what's interesting is that everything that is happening around this invasion is exactly the opposite of what Russia's dictator wanted to achieve.  More countries in the surrounding area want to be a part of both NATO and the EU and those organizations are more inclined to welcome those nations.

Back to nature and your walk in the woods.  So far we have looked at how it decreases stress and lowers blood pressure, it increases our well being and happiness, and it increases our creativity.  Another finding through studies is that nature (even being surrounded by potted plants) increases how folks feel towards themselves and others.   They feel more tenderness, more warmth, more concern, more compassion.

It's a wonder with so many positive outcomes that not everyone takes that walk.  Although, when weather is good, the parks around here are full of hikers.  How about you?  Are you taking your walk?  If you haven't, are you at least thinking about it?  I truly hope so because the benefits are wonderful.

Yesterday, I suggested that you collect things from nature to place around your home.  Today, I want to suggest that you try weaving with things you have collected.  The only other thing you need will be string or yarn.  Check this out...

A bit of artistic creation from nature.  Fun for any age.  And another reminder of your walk in the woods.

Talk with you tomorrow...
