I remember that these roses in Brooklyn had a wonderful sweet smell. I love the smell of old fashioned roses. Unfortunately a lot of the hybrids have lost that sweetness. I remember my grandma's yard in Ogilvie, Minnesota had lots of bushes of roses that were wild and the smell all through summer was wonderful. Light and sweet. And the bees loved those bushes. That's probably why her vegetable garden was always so productive...lots of bees around.
It's already Thursday...the weeks just keep tumbling by. I am still managing to get my exercises in, how about you? If nothing else, do a fifteen minute walk everyday. I use the Silver Sneakers online videos. If you are hesitant to go out and exercise at a gym, check out Silver Sneakers. You will find walking exercises as well as exercises for balance and strength. And for almost all folks, it is free.
Have you looked at things that you can delegate or eliminate from your needs list to free up more time for your desired list? Remember, finding time for yourself is not selfish, it is actually very healthy and family friendly. Family friendly? Well, if you don't invest time to replenish yourself, no one else will. And the results of not taking care of yourself will catch up eventually with some very negative results.
The questions you need to answer are two-fold. First of all, is the action really needed? Second, can you accept it being done at the lowest level. For instance, consider housecleaning...at what level of, shall I say untidiness, are you comfortable with? Does everything have to be dusted and vacuumed daily or weekly? Can you delegate that cleaning and be satisfied with the results?
Go over your list of needs and see what action you can take to find more time for your own needs, those that you desire. Make a plan of action to start delegating or eliminating. For some, it's better to do it all in one fell swoop, for others they may feel better with a step-by-step plan. Decide which suits you better and do it.
Then start relishing those addition minutes and hours for your own needs, doing exactly what you need to do for yourself.
Talk with you tomorrow...
