June 15: Summer Enjoyment

I felt that I didn't do justice to last Friday's nature weaving craft so I wanted to show you pictures of a weaving that I am doing...

I put a piece of cardboard between the front and back yarn to make it easier to see the yarn.  I don't have a lot of yarn available as most of it is packed, but I wanted to show that you can have fun weaving.  I did wire this loom together as well as used string to secure the corners.  It's still a bit wobbly but it works.  I am working on the weaving as you can see.  I will share as soon as I finish it.

Today's focus is reading.  Do you enjoy reading physical books or on a reader or your phone.  I am used to using either my phone or iPad to read basically because we had so many books that moving was a nightmare.  Now I have a large library but 95% is online.  Much easier to move.

So what type of books to you enjoy reading.  My go to choice for easy reading is cosy mysteries and there are many available.  Here are some of my favorites...

The Mrs. Jefferies Mysteries by Emily Brightwell.  There are 40 books in this series so far.

Mrs. Murphy Mysteries (Mrs. Murphy is a cat, by the way) by Rita Mae Brown.  There are 31 books in this series.

The Tea Shop Mysteries by Laura Childs.  There are 25 books in this series so far.

Mrs. Pollifax Mysteries by Dorothy Gilman.  There are 14 books in this series.

Of course, Agatha Christi has tons of mystery books.

The nice thing about the above authors is that most are available in public libraries.

Summer is a great time to read so find an author or a type of book that you enjoy reading and start reading.  We are already half way through June so don't waste any time...get a book, take some time for yourself and read.

Talk with you tomorrow...
