Warm day today. Didn't get much done. I guess the loss of the house and the way they did it was frustrating. Our bid was accepted on the last day that bids were to be in - period. And yet, after that date, another bid came in and our acceptance was rescinded. As I said, not really fair and, of course, we are out $850.
Oh well, my son will be looking at two homes tomorrow after work, both of which are empty and both of which would work, although one would be better than the other. Hopefully one will work and our bid accepted but...
So, today's focus is nature. I saw something which I am sure you can google to find out more but which really intrigued me...a quick, temporary, home-made, small green house.
This one used four poles about six feet long and four poles four feet long, heavy duty wire, a shovel, a hammer, a utility knife and a ton of plastic wrap...yep, plastic wrap.
First, set the six foot poles in the ground in a four feet square space by shoveling out a hole and then using the hammer, pound the poles down. Replace the dirt and pound in the ground around the pole to secure.
Next wire the four four foot poles together at the corners to make a square.
Now, beginning at the bottom begin wrapping the plastic wrap around the outside of the four six foot poles in the ground. Continue wrapping until the poles are covered top to bottom heavily overlapping the plastic wrap.
When finished, use the plastic wrap to wrap around the four foot poles wired together again heavily overlapping. This time, wrap over one pole to the opposite pole, under and back to the first pole. This makes the top.
Use the utility knife to cut a line about halfway down in the middle of one of the sides in the wrapped six foot poles to make a door. Place the four foot square on top.
And you have a small, temporary, hand-made green house. Wild isn't it.
Talk with you tomorrow...
