June 21: Summer Enjoyment

Today is cloudy, misty, rainy and cool.  Let me tell you, my joints are rebelling!  We are supposed to get rain today and tomorrow and then heat which here means high 80's.

We did look at homes this weekend.  One which we thought would be great wasn't and one which we thought would be awful wasn't.  As a matter of fact, my son put a bid on that home.  They obviously underestimated the square footage...by a lot.  So, at this point we have three homes that are out there with bids.  Fingers crossed.

Did you listen to the 1/6 hearing today?  I was so sad to hear about the threats to the election workers, busting into their homes, threatening them.  What has our nation become that this behavior is acceptable?  It is not the nation that I grew up in.  And I hope it will not continue to be the nation in the future.

Yesterday was a holiday so I didn't post but I did have a question for you to ponder which after today, I think is important.  The question:  Is there something you can do to contribute to your community?  I know there is for me and I will be donating my time to my community,  especially during elections.

What about you?  I know we are all busy?  We all have numerous activities that require our attention but if our nation is to continue to be the democracy that is was meant to be, then we need to get involved in our community doing what we can.

It doesn't have to be political, it can be donating time to your library or your school.  But it can also be political like running for local office, or working for someone who is running, or even working at polls during elections.

Investment in our nation begins at the local level, so please do what you can to contribute to your own community.

Talk with you tomorrow...
