Another cloudy, dark, cold, wet and windy day. Radar indicates that it's raining, but the rain is not reaching the ground. The weekend is still supposed to be hot...now it may reach 90 degrees.
No new word on any of the houses...fingers still crossed.
Wednesday's focus is reading. I have a question for you...how do you feel about books being banned? Do you really agree that books should be banned? If we are not allowed to read books about a certain subject, how are we to learn about that subject?
I am totally against banning books...even books with which I disagree. My initial reaction to banned books is to get copies and read them which seems to be the general reaction as noted by the number of banned books that are sold.
The New York City Library has a list of banned books and has challenged readers to read several of the banned books. Most libraries have a list of banned books and many still have the books and offer them to their users.
There are two ways to fight banned books. First, find out the banned book list and begin reading those books. Second, let your political representatives (both local including the school board and national) know that you are against banning books.
No matter what...spend time each day reading...
Talk with you tomorrow...
