THE SUMMER OF DISCONTENT!
With the 1/6 Committee Hearings, I have made comments about politics before focusing on the topic of the day. But after the two decisions by the Supreme Court first on over turning gun laws that have been on the books for over 100 years which will allow more people with guns when what we need is fewer people with guns; and then, over turning Roe which takes away the ability for women to have control over their own body, I can't even think about today's topic.
Over turning Roe not only takes away women's choice, it also makes stare decisis moot which means that any law can now be overturned based on the politics of the court. And, Judge Thomas wants to get rid of the ability for folks to use contraceptives or to marry whom they want.
I am old enough to remember not only what happened to women prior to Roe but to fight for Women't Rights. To have those rights taken away fifty plus years later is unbelievable. To think that I have to go out and fight for those rights again is also unbelievable. BUT I will fight for those rights again.
