October 5, 2022

Sorry about not posting yesterday but time got away from me and with all that we have to do to again set up housekeeping again here I may wind up missing a post or two again.

Today we are emptying the pod that was filled mostly with furniture.  I called to have the pods picked up on the 17th.  That will give us two weekends to empty them out and get things organized!

Let me tell you, the house hunting situation is really not for the faint of heart.  We will begin looking again in five or six months.

Today's focus is paper.  I don't know about you but I always have several magazines sitting around.  I don't want to keep them but I also don't want to just throw them away in the recycling bin.  What I do is go through and pull out interesting pictures (or articles that I want to keep).

So I thought that today we could recycle those pictures into a paper collage.  The supplies you need are magazine pictures, glue, brushes, a cardboard base (cut from a box) and a finish.  I like Diamond Glaze...

Rather than cut out shapes, I like to tear.  When you tear, if you do not want the white edge to show, tear the piece you want to use toward you...

Apply glue to the magazine piece and place on the cardboard.  You can start anywhere but beginning in the center will be easy to build out.  You can audition pieces before placing them...

Here's one of my finished pieces...

To finish the piece you can either brush on something like Diamond Glaze which gives a shiny appearance or simply spray on an acrylic finish.  Put it in an inexpensive frame and you have a decorative addition to you house.

That's all for today...

I will be traveling to Vermont tomorrow...

Talk with you late tomorrow...
