I don't do a lot of social media like Facebook and Instragram, etc. But I do like to watch YouTube videos on crafting, quilting and cooking, etc. Well, this past week, what has been showing up when I open YouTube is lots of conservative videos, ones that really attack liberals and emphasize those crazy conspiracies.
I am not happy! For me, this was a place where I could just enjoy non-political videos. But now I am bombarded with unwanted and disgusting videos. I don't know about you, but for me it is frustrating enough to stop using YouTube!
So, today, decorating for the holidays is my focus. Putting up the tree, bringing up the villages, the monks, the Santas, etc.
I did finish the count down to Christmas calendar. I decided to use a folder which I strengthened by added a piece of card stock to each side. Here's the result...
I like the way this turned out. My only concern is that putting something in the envelopes is not as easy as I would like. I am thinking that maybe in the next version I should create more space in the envelopes.
One of the videos I watched had fewer pockets per page and also made the pockets expandable so that 'things' rather than paper could be added. They put the calendar in a decorated three ring binder using very strong pages. I like that idea.
By having expandable pockets, I could make the calendar particular to an idea or a person. The pockets could contain candy, or items for a particular craft, or puzzles to solve or even a story to read. The ideas are endless!
