Another cold day, but again no rain nor snow.  We did not get any precipitation from the winter storm that rolled through the midwest and coastal areas.  We did get some wind.  But not the winds that are helping the fires sweep through parts of Los Angeles.

I often wonder how much better our world would be if we had followed President Carter's warning about Global Warming during his administration.  If you weren't familiar about it, he actually had solar panels installed on the White House.  They were removed by the next administration.

I finally got my glasses arranged for yesterday.  They will be ready in a week or so.  I decided to try glasses that had the sunglasses attached via magnets for my long distant pair.  Now I have to remember to take care of the sunglasses!

There's a new prompt for 'A Month of Getting It Together'. Remember to read this blog in Web Version to see the sidebar.  Also, if you missed a day, under Pages 'GETTING IT TOGETHER' you will find all the prompts that have been published listed.

The goals that I have been suggesting so far include:  First, a goal of something that you have always wanted to do; Second, being good to yourself; and, Third, practicing gratitude.  I want to suggest a fourth goal for your consideration and that goal is 'smiling more'.  Yep, I said smiling.

You don't need a reason to smile...you can just smile!  And you know what that smile does?  It releases endorphins which lifts your mood.  Smiling reduces stress, makes other's happier, makes you happier and more optimistic.  Try it.  Smile.  How do you feel when you smile?  I don't know about you but I just plain feel better and, yes, happier.

When I was out arranging for my glasses, I did pick up the three ring binders and page protectors for things that I decided to save.  I still need to get a large box to keep other items in.

I have gotten some things ready to craft...a paper collage and junk journal books.  To get them ready, I used cardboard from boxes.  I also used white copy paper and masking tape.  I glued the copy paper to the front side of the cardboard of each and then bound the edged with masking tape.  Check out these photos of journal covers...

And this is what I did to get a base ready for paper collage (front and back)...

I have been saving magazines, greeting card fronts, and other miscellaneous paper ephemeral to use for collaging.

A couple things that I did this year was sign up for classes on both Eventbrite and Get Set Up...all of which are free.  I also signed up for a ten session of collaging called 'Collage Joy Taster with Catherine Rains, again free.  If you want to jumpstart your creativity, try out a virtual free class.  There are plenty around which you can find on YouTube, Eventbrite, Get Set Up, and Senior Planet.

Be sure to do something today that you want to do...even if only for a few minutes.

Talk with you tomorrow...
