Cold today...high only in the high 20's but it's bright and sunny out.  Wind is forecast so it could feel really cold.

But the winds here are not the santa ana winds that are blowing the fires through Los Angeles County.  Even watching the television coverage, it's hard to imagine the amount of devastation that those folks are experiencing.

I was optimistic about sorting through all three boxes this week.  I'm not even sure if I will make it through one.  That's my aim, but there's still a lot of 'paper' things to go through.  And then I need to place the items saved into the three ring binders along with notations.

I have several items to donate to Goodwill and that's one of my errands today.  I also want to look for some lid racks to hang on cabinet doors.  Leftovers have run out, so I'm making dinner...probably oven roasted vegetables and chicken.

A new prompt for The Month of Getting It Together is on the sidebar.  I know there are several blogs with similar ideas.  How I decided what prompts to include was based on what I wanted to do myself.  If a particular prompt is not something you want to do, substitute your own prompt for the day.  After all, it has to work for you to be helpful in getting ready for the new year.

The goals I have suggested so far include:  First, a goal of something you have always wanted to do; Second, being good to yourself; Third, practicing gratitude; Fourth, smiling.  And my last suggested goal is to 'be kind to others'.

We are experiencing a time in our nation of unrest, anger, distrust and even hostility towards one another.  We really aren't all that different from each other and I think a bit of kindness could go a long way in helping to understand and even, possibly, healing the divide that we are all feeling.

So, those are my five suggestions for goals that you may want to consider this year.  A lot different from past years, yes, but considering the current feeling, these suggestions may be better suited.

That's all for today...

Stay warm and stay safe and enjoy the season...

Talk with you tomorrow...
