My plan is to do some shopping, checking out a few stores in Kingston and picking up a few sale items.
Even though retired, I sometimes dread Mondays so I try to include something that is enjoyable to do. And, yes, sometimes shopping, especially for craft items, is enjoyable. Or just getting out of the house! I remember those days when the children were very young, money was tight and only one car! Even going to the grocery store was something to look forward to!
How do you feel about Mondays? Do you dread them or not? Any tricks to overcome the 'sigh' of Mondays? One thing that I remember doing (and still in some form do) is to get everything ready Sunday night for Monday morning. Clothes picked out, lunches packed, papers gathered, etc.
Another thing that I do is to get up a few minutes early on Monday and spend them enjoying my first cup of coffee by myself thinking/planning the coming week. And instead of dreading Mondays I try to look at them as new beginnings.
Only a few more days left in The Month of Getting It Together. A new prompt is posted. I like the idea of doing things in shorts spurts like monthly. So next month, I have a decluttering challenge that is so simple and will take so little time that you'll be done each day in a New York Minute!
This little journal is only two inches by two and three quarters inches. Very small but actually packed full of journal pages!
To begin you need a piece of fabric about two inches by five and a half inches. I used an old piece of velvet. You also need some embroidery thread, a needle and threader...
Once you have finished the blanket stitch, go around again with the thread, this time twisting it around the blanket stitch. With the threaded needle, go done through the open area of the blanket stitch, up and over and go done again in the next blanket stitch. Continue all the way around the edges of the fabric. This will give a thicker border of thread. Check the picture of the finished journal above to see.
That's all for today. Have an absolutely amazing day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
