It's 33 degrees right now with snow flurries as well as being bright and sunny.  Flurries are kind of an unusual thing...lots of snow in the air but little makes it to the ground.

I did go shopping yesterday and found a Dollar Tree Store again larger, cleaner and a bit more upscale in Kingston.  That's two stores that I was taken aback by in Kingston.  The first was the Walmart which was not only the largest SuperWalmart that I have been in but the cleanest and dare I say a bit more upscale!

The chimney sweep is scheduled to come by this morning and clean out the chimneys to the wood fire stove and the furnace.  Will be interesting to see what he has to say about the condition of both.  The last one said they were both in bad condition but neighbors said that wasn't possible because the previous owner was very particular about keeping both in excellent shape.

Do you ever feel like you need a break from things?  Not a vacation or quitting, just a break.  Even in retirement I get that feeling.  For instance, we brought in several more boxes this past weekend and I just don't want to deal with them right now!

You can tell when you need to take a break when your stress level increases, you feel extremely tired, you have a hard time concentrating and you just can't get even interested in doing whatever you need a break from.

If you ever feel that you need that break, take it because continuing under those circumstances generally will not result in getting the job done.  We would let our children very occasionally take a 'mental health day' and we did the same for ourselves.  Consider taking one yourself if you need that break!

There's a new prompt posted in Getting It Together.  We are getting almost to the end of these prompts which means January is almost at an end.  No holidays to speak of and yet the time flies by!

On the tiny journal, the next step is to decorate the front of the journal however you want.  I used lace and beads and a tiny fabric flower which I glued to the front of the journal.

Next, think about what you want to use to hang it around your neck.  I took three lengths of the embroidery thread, using all the strands, and three lengths of a metallic thread and braided them together, one length of the embroidery thread and one of the metallic thread as one section.

The reason to decide about this now is because this is glued to the inside of the cover and covered by either fabric or lace, again, fully glued to the cover.  Check out this picture...

You can see that I also added a small pocket on the inside of the back cover.  Gluing the fabric/lace to the cover makes the cover a bit more sturdy.  Tomorrow we will work on pages for the journal.

That's all for now...

Remember to stay safe and be optimistic about your possibilities...

Talk with you tomorrow...
