It certainly is gloomy out this morning.  Heavy dark clouds and it's been raining all night and it looks like it's going to continue all day.  The low is 50 and the high is 56.  Great weather for ducks.

I did make it to Vermont on Friday.  The weather was perfect...bright and sunny with comfortable temperatures.

Interestingly, there was no color north of here.  Lots of green leaves on many trees but no real color.  What makes that interesting is that between here and New York City (south), there is beautiful color...yellows, rusts dotted occasionally with bright red.

I made it to the museum and saw the 'Dear Jane Quilt' which was under very low light...

Here's a close-up...

And, of course, I spend the majority of my time in the Grandma Moses Collection admiring her work.  I spent time with each picture.  I find that each year my favorite picture changes.  Here's this year's favorite...

After visiting the museum I decided to drive up Mount Equinox Skyline Drive.  This is a non-profit road up the mountain to the summit.  It closes for the winter at the end of October.  On a clear day, you can see all the way to Canada.  Here's one of many photos I took...

After the drive up to the summit, I looked for a place to eat and found 'Lil' Britain' in Bennington where I had the best fish and chips that I have ever eaten. The restaurant is tiny with only a few tables and small counter but believe me, the food is excellent.  If you're in the area, you need to try their fish and chips.

All in all, it was a great Friday.  And then on Saturday I went to NYC for the quilt guild meeting which was very good.  Although it was the first time the speaker (Boy Meets Quilt) presented a program, it was a very good presentation.  And we had more members register for the Online Quilt Show.

The guild had a book sale and I brought the unsold books home to offer to libraries up here...I live quite far north of the city.  Turned out there were ten boxes...that's a lot of books and I think it will take a long time to dispose of them.

Well, that's my latest adventure...lots of wonderful things to see and do.  Today I need to catch up with some household chores including laundry and running to the grocery store for a few needed items.

Have a great day and stay dry if it's raining.  Check out the new challenge in the sidebar...

Talk with you tomorrow...
