No frost this morning...it did not get below freezing last night.  Today it's going to the mid 50's and another bright and sunny day.

Cookie Monster went through the procedure without any problems and is home acting just like nothing happened.  After I dropped him off at the vets yesterday, I took the long way to the grocery store because it was so beautiful.  Imagine driving on rural roads with trees full of yellows and oranges on each side and dappled sunlight shining through them, topped by bright blue skies!  That's what it was like!

Remember what I said about magazines yesterday focusing on creating things for the holidays rather than purchasing?  Well, here are a few that I have in the studio...

And each magazine is full of really great craft ideas.   And from the looks of our economy, that may be the way to go for many of us.  However, for me, I always love to craft and not just the holidays but all year long.   A holdover from the kindergarten cut and paste years?  Maybe, but it's relaxing and fun.

I was reading an older blog on 'Cultivate:  Arts and Education' about how art is important in our everyday lives.  Basically art is a form of expression including our own and it helps us explore and understand the world and our place in it.

In the book, 'Living Out Loud' the author writes that our/your life is your art.  Everything you do, your daily habits and special things, where you live, what you see, who you talk with, what you like, etc., etc., etc.  Imagine what you would create considering your life past, present and future.  What would you create?   It's an exercise that I am exploring and right now I can't really imagine what I would create but I do know it would be something out of fabric.  At least that's a first step.  What would be your first step?  You don't have to create anything.  Just thinking about what you would create will get your mind working and exploring.

So today I hope to spend a few hours working in the yard.  Yesterday's frost has left many of the plants ready to be cut back for the winter.  We're having great leftovers for supper and the house is in decent shape so the rest of my time will be spent between the studio and guild work (I need to finish up this month's newsletter but am waiting for one more article.).

We brought in one of the house plants last night.  I should check to see if any of the others survived...probably not but with our three cats, it's hard to keep plants alive in the house...especially with the newest monster!

There's a new challenge listed.  Can you believe that this is the last week of October and that Halloween is this Friday?

Enjoy the rest of your day...

Talk with you tomorrow...
