One of our roses up close and beautiful!.  It does have the old fashioned rose smell but not very strong.

I rearranged my morning because it was going to be very hot today.  I decided to work outside before my exercises (I did both!!!).  I also decided to limit my outside work until my joints stop hurting.

So today I planted two of the large pots with the marigolds I brought back from the west.  Unfortunately, the first large pot had ants, small ones that bite but I did manage to get the weeds out, the fertilizer in as well as the plants...

The second pot is surrounded by hosta plants so it was tricky to plant in but I managed to add some marigolds.  It looks better from the side than from the top...

The other things accomplished included hooking up and unkinking the new hose, moving things into the greenhouse and water any plants that needed watering and sweeping the outside steps.  I don't think they had been swept since the last time I did it BEFORE going out west!

It's already 80 out this morning (9:00am) going to a high of 90 with extremely high humidity!  Not a pleasant day.  Thunderstorms are forecast for tonight.  I still need to move the suitcases out to Duchess and move the cover back on top of Duchess.  That last item may have to wait until my son gets home this evening.

The rest of the day is going to be devoted to getting the studio organized and straightened up including unpacking everything I took with me.  And maybe, hopefully, work on a new project.

And do I have a fantastic new project...again, one for myself rather than some random person.  It all started when I was spending time on YouTube shorts.  Yes, one can easily spend too much time, but I did limit my shorts to specific subjects.

Well, one idea really excited me from 'Journals4breakfast', actually, I can't wait to start.  What is it?  Well, basically it's an adult, personal Summer Camp organized and planned just for me.  When the kids were young, I would plan for things to do each day during the summer kind of like a Summer Camp.  But this time it's just for me and what I want to do!

We all have to-do lists for summer like mow the lawn, plant the garden, paint the trim, fix the steps, etc., etc., etc.  And these items stay on your to-do list day after day until they're done, right.  Well, how about changing things up (like I did this morning to accommodate the heat!) and instead putting those things we want to accomplish at the end of the list rather than the beginning!

For our Summer Camp, we put summer camp items first on the list.  No, we don't forget those items, we simply put them in a different place.  The Summer Camp at the 'Journals4breakfast' blog had badges for different things finished (including those pesky to-do items) las well as journaling, bird watching, reading (including a list of books), weaving, crafting, etc.

The idea is that you get to design your own Summer Camp (all summer long) with things you want to accomplish AND those go on the daily to-do list first!

I can't wait to begin planning.  How about you?  Wouldn't you enjoy your own Summer Camp experience?  Why not spend some time and plan one.

Stay cool if you're having a hot day...

Talk with you tomorrow...
