Today is Election Day...if you haven't voted already please make plans to vote today.  I vote in a small fire station about a mile from here.  Not a heavily populated district but at each election there seems to always be folks voting in a continuous stream.

No big fuss, just going about business as usual.  I like that feeling that seems to permeate the atmosphere...voting is something we all should do without fuss or fancy.  It's really how democracy thrives; or, doesn't thrive.  (And it can be one of your things to be thankful for when you add to your list.)  The weather here is cooperating with no rain, warm temperatures and beautiful fall color.

After voting this morning, I need to run some errands...pick up a few groceries including supplies for one of the Thanksgiving dishes, gas up SnowWhite again...there goes another $100 or so just for gas.  The turkeys here have not really gone on sale.  I'm wondering if there is a shortage.  I only want a turkey on the smaller side as I plan on also baking a ham but small turkeys, believe it or not, are hard to come by!  How about where you live...are turkeys abundant or not?

I shared with you yesterday pictures of making my latest pumpkin.  It's really cute and very sturdy. Here's how it turned out...

I purchased three Christmas presents...they were all on sale (70% off) which amounted to a big savings.  And all three were things that folks especially wanted.  Did I spend a lot of money?  Actually no...only $11.78 for three great gifts.  It makes sense to watch for those sales and purchase gifts.  Stores put loss leaders (things at or below what it cost the store) on sale to attract customers.  If you only purchase the loss leaders, you can save a ton of money.  The trick is to not spend on other things.

Also, shopping at super discount stores saves money.  I am very hard on winter gloves...losing them, wearing them out, forgetting them, etc...I like to purchase those inexpensive gloves, one size fits all, from the Dollar Store and have several pair handy...in my car, in my jacket pocket, by the door.  That way I can always find a pair.  And they make great  gifts.  One can always use a pair of gloves and you can't beat those prices ($1.25)!

Well, it's time to get going...have a great day...remember to vote...
Talk with you tomorrow...
