MACY'S AT CHRISTMAS

I made it to Macy's last Friday and enjoyed every crowd filled minute.   Have you ever watched the original Miracle on 34th Street movie?  It's a must watch for me during the Holiday Season.  I remember those wooden escalators.   And yes, I did ride those clickety-clackety moving stairs...

All the way up to The Holiday Lane which, as usual, was chocked full of trees each with loads and loads of ornaments.   Here's just a sampling...

There were village houses...

Jim Shore Santa's and Angels...

And, of course, lots of Santa's...

If you're ever in NYC at Christmas Time, treat yourself to a trip to Macy's   It's a lot of fun.  Brings out the childlike wonder in everyone...even those harried shoppers.   I saw more smiles in The Holiday Lane than any place else in the store.   Of course, I was smiling like the Cheshire Cat...full face smile...just snapping picture after picture.

There's a new Weekly Journal Prompt posted...'Be thankful for celebrations!'   Just think how boring life would be without celebrations.   Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Passover, Chanukah, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, potlucks, etc., etc., etc.

I've even celebrated summer in Minnesota - only one day sometime in August - believe me there were years when we wondered if summer was going to arrive!!!!

Celebrations offer a time to enjoy, share, remember, eat, love and, yes, smile.   Smiling at the enjoyment of the present time.   Smiling at those cherished memories of celebrations long past. Smiling in anticipation of celebrations yet to come.

So, be thankful for celebrations...big or little...lots of folks or just a couple...because celebrations are the spice of life.   (Celebrations and football...oh, come on, enjoying a football game is a celebration in itself for some of us!!!)

Thanks for dropping by...
Talk to you tomorrow...
