Happy New Year to everyone! I hope your holiday celebrations are and were full of friends and family, joys and surprises, along with time for relaxing and contemplating...
Today I have enjoyed watching the Rose Parade, a long time tradition for me, while leisurely cooking some blackeye peas and rice, along with a roaster full of chicken, carrots and potatoes.
And topping all that off is football...another three game day. Sadly those days will be over faster than I would like. However, my team - the Vikings - are at least in the hunt for the ring!!! Wouldn't it be great if they won, at their new stadium!!!
I realized as I went to turn the page on my calendar that there were no more pages. Looks like I need to pick up a new wall calendar for 2018. In a couple weeks, they will be greatly reduced in price...of course, that will limit my choices.
So, I do realize that the first day of January is simply another day in my life, but I always like to look at it as a new beginning. (I also think of September as the second beginning of the year...kind of a chance to reboot if things haven't gone as planned which is usually every year!)
I have spent much of this past week looking at goals for the 2018 and have come up with a couple really big ones.
First on that list is moving...although I love this city more than any other I have lived in, I think I would like to move to the country but within easy daily commuting distance to NYC. In line with that, I have been checking out real estate around the Harriman and Sterling State Parks.
Second, and I have mentioned this one before, is opening up an Etsy Store. I have been working on improving my photography and learning how best to show off items for sale. I have also been working on the store setup at Etsy.
And finally, you will notice that I posted a word for the year...SEARCHING. This is going to be another year of exploring and searching for me.
Searching for a new home.
Searching for a way to stay current and active with our political situation.
Searching for new ideas of things to make and sell on Etsy.
Searching for new adventures.
And searching for my spiritual quest, my bliss, that Joseph Campbell spoke of...something which changes from time to time.
Looks like I may have a busy year. Hope you all will join me on my adventures.
Well, that's all for today...
Enjoy this first day of a new year...
Be well...
Thanks for stopping by...
Looking forward to talking with you again...
