Yesterday was a bit cold...the high was in the high thirties. Today the high is close to 50! I keep asking myself if this really is December...but it is...only a few more days until Christmas. I hope all of you are enjoying preparing for your celebrations. I think that's a great part of the fun of holidays...getting ready and anticipating.
Today's craft is a crocheted decorated tree.
Supplies needed are: 4 ply yarn (green & white), hook (H or 7),
glue, sequins, beads, needle & thread
First crochet the tree using the following directions:
(ch - chain; sc - single crochet; sk - skip; t - turn)
ch13; t; sk 1ch; 1sc in each ch (12sc); t; 1sc in each sc (12sc);
t; sk 1sc, 1sc in each sc (11sc); t; 1sc in each sc (11sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (10sc); t; 1sc in each sc (10sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (9sc); t; 1sc in each sc (9sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (8sc); t; 1sc in each sc (8sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (7sc); t; 1sc in each sc (7sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (6sc); t; 1sc in each sc (6sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (5sc); t; 1sc in each sc (5sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (4sc); t; 1sc in each sc (4sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (3sc); t; 1sc in each sc (3sc);
t; sk 1sc; 1sc in each sc (2sc); t; 1sc in each sc (2sc);
The tree looks a bit skewed. Next, using glue applied in
a thin line in the 'ditch', add a single strand of white yarn
continuously from the bottom to the top, wrapping around
When the glue is dry, add the sequins and beads with needle
and thread. Going from the back to front, have the needle
go up through the sequin and bead, then have the needle go
down ONLY through the sequin using the bead as an anchor.
Add a loop at the top to hang and you're done.
Again, like snowflakes, it's hard to make just one.
Enjoy...
Talk with you tomorrow...
